Verified ReviewerCustomer Service
After going to a store, who couldnt help me. They suggested I call customer service, which I replied this wont end well.
I have had horrible experiences with customer service. I called because that seems to be the only way to address my service issue. After 29 minutes and the customer service rep putting me on hold numerous times, I finally lost my cool.
The rep couldnt answer simple questions about a possible plan switch nor would they put a supervisor on the phone after repeated requests. Now I am still waiting on the supervisor to call me back within 10 minutes, which was over 30 minutes ago.
- Scattered coverage and horrible customer service
Preferred solution: A discussion with someone about my switching plans. Easy peasy.
User's recommendation: Use a company with a reputable customer service
Weirdest customer service interaction ever
I was considering switching to Tmobile, so I started a chat w CS rep to ask a few questions. I clearly explained my situation; 2 phones, one fine one cracked, want to compare trade-in value to decide if I'll give my son a phone or just get myself a new iPhone 15.
Also wanted to know about bundle promos w subscriptions like Netflix & home internet options. He asked me the same question FIVE TIMES: How much can we charge you monthly? What is the max you can pay us? (Worded like that!) I kept explaining that I couldn't answer that without knowing what I was getting, I've paid anywhere from $40 - $130/mo, but obv my decision depends on their offers.
He just kept going at it! "How much can you spend?" "That's why I keep asking about your budget." WEIRD. I almost felt like he was gaslighting me. Making no sense, ignoring my questions, acting like something was wrong w me for needing promo info.
Finally I got annoyed & left the chat. Later, I saw he'd texted: I don't know what you want me to do. HELLO??? Basically I learned TMobile doesn't value or train their CS reps.
I wasn't a tough sell, but this guy was a jerk so they lost my business. He didn't even try to understand which plan best suited me. Maybe they're paid on commission or something? Stupid, if so.
Then I called Verizon & had a very pleasant chat w a super helpful woman who understood my mom needs. And tried hard to find me the best deal, helped me crunch the #s, set it completely up for me. VZ also accepts damaged/cracked trade-in devices. The one helpful fact TMobile's rep gave me was they do NOT accept iPhones w even the smallest crack as trade-ins.
That is huge, bc I got nearly $900 back for my old shattered phone. 15 mins later, I'm back to VZ. I don't think I would've spent much less anyway at TMobile; think they're just fairly dishonest in quoting costs in commercials.
So my industry take: you get what you pay for. I'll happily pay a few $ more/month to have access to helpful humans who seem content & competent at their jobs.
User's recommendation: if you value customer service, go w Verizon.

I have a problem with billing
Unable to pay bill
I recently cancelled 3 of my 4 lines with T-Mobile. Initial plan was to cancel all 4, but t-mobile had a lock on one of the phones on my account due to remaining equipment balance.
I went to log on to pay remaining balance and was told I no longer have access to my account, under my name, because my phone number is no longer associated with T-Mobile. I explained that the account is in my name and they said it doesnt matter.
I asked how I am suppose to review and pay the bill, they said they could take payment over the phone. I explained I would like to look at it first and they said that wasnt possible unless they mailed me a bill, but they wouldnt be able to unlock 4th phone until balance was paid.
So account is in my name, no one elses name is listed anywhere on account, t-mobile acknowledges that they would be sending ME the final bill by mail, but wont let me access the account because my previous phone number is no longer linked with T-Mobile.
They have no other name to bill, and no permission to speak with anyone else regarding the account, but I cant have access to pay the bill online so they can remove the lock in my 4th phone.
User's recommendation: Make sure you complete everything online prior to canceling services with t-mobile, because after to cancel, you are chop liver and they refuse to assist you.

Preferred solution: Full rescinding of this illegal "terms of service".
User's recommendation: T Mobile's new terms of service starting 1/1/24 will set $2K fines for speech they deem unacceptable ( involving the government ATF.). This includes what they get to deem as "hate speech". This is a blatant 1st Amendment violation of We the People.

they out sourced and or eliminated many jobs so what you have for "support" are poorly trained and have no clue most of the time they will often lie and nothing will be done about that there executive reelations ( use to be able to call them) are no better if you complaint o much or expect help or a answer to a simple valid question they will block your phone and give you a address to "write" for help ( sometime in the next 90 years be shocked if they reply by letter)
